Solving the Preliminary Example

The two commands should have resulted in the following:

prelimx=prelimsol[[1,1,2]]

InterpolatingFunction[{-2., 2.}, <>][t]

prelimy=prelimsol[[1,2,2]]

InterpolatingFunction[{-2., 2.}, <>][t]

It's actually impossible to tell the two results apart since Mathematica shields you from the details of the result, (hundreds of points.) That's all right though, we'll soon see the difference when we graph them.
