Your command should have yielded the following:

uscensus = Table[{k, QuantityMagnitude[CountryData["UnitedStates", {"Population", k}]]}, {k, 1790, 2010, 10}]

Notice that we read this list of data into a variable called uscensus so we can refer to it by name in future commands.

It would be nice to get a sense of what this data looks like graphically, but since it is just a list of ordered pairs rather than a function defined by a formula we cannot use Mathematica's Plot command to do this. Instead we will use the ListPlot command. Switch to Mathematica now, then enter and execute the command:

uscensusplot = ListPlot[uscensus, PlotStyle -> Red]
